Long Ashes Park is set in the heart of Wharfedale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The landscape is a mix of rugged hills, rolling hay meadows and charming traditional stone villages.

Surrounded by some of England's most stunning and dramatic scenery, it is perfectly situated for touring and exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Known popularly as James Herriott and Bronte country, the area also provided the backdrop for the "Calendar Girls" film.

Rich with natural features - potholes, caves, waterfalls, tranquil riversides, dramatic limestone scenery and woodland - it offers some of the best walking country in Britain. There are miles of footpaths to explore, including many long distance routes, and some spectacular show caves to visit at Stump Cross. There are also plenty of opportunities for those who like fishing, horse riding and cycle trails.
Grassington
The nearby village of Grassington is one of the most picturesque villages in Wharfedale. It is centred around a bustling cobbled square and has a selection of quality country shops for food, clothing and gifts.
Grassington is also an internationally acclaimed cultural centre, hosting the annual Grassington Festival of music and arts each summer and featuring many well-known performers.
Skipton
The historic market town of Skipton is nine miles distant. Here you will find the larger stores and of course its well known street market 4 days a week. Skipton has many historic features, most notably Skipton Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in England. Britain's longest inland waterway, the Leeds Liverpool Canal, passes right through the centre of Skipton and cruises are available.
